Link, travelling on his companion Epona through the mysterious Lost Woods after restoring peace to the land of Termina and defeating Majora's Mask, was continuing on the quest he had three days ago, in search of a long and invaluable friend, Navi.

It was late in the evening by now, warm and humid. There was a subtle mist of fog grazing the tops of the massive trees. Beyond the galloping of Epona Link could hear the faint echo of Skull Kid playing his flute to the mysterious melody of the woods.

Suddenly the echo was ceased when Link heard a crashing, thunder like noise in the distance followed by a flash of light. Link noticed a frightened young boy running his way. A huge beast was trailing him, a beast which was all to familiar. It was Twinmold, Link was horrified. But how could this be, he had defeated the entities of Twinmold in Stone Tower. But this wasn't the same Twinmold that he had fought in Stone Tower, instead, it was a solid crystal beast much larger than the one that he had fought, this one was gleaming with fire in its center. It darted in and out of the ground in a wave of crashing fury.

Link knew that he was no match for the beast without his Giant's Mask but he had given that up to the child on the moon. Link quickly remembered why he had done so. He put on his Fierce Deity's Mask, drew his helix sword and fired a charged nova at the beast, it stoped dead its tracks, and a massive spectrum of gleaming color flashed in front of Links eyes. When the dust had settled, Link found to his horror that it only withdrew the energy of the nova. The beast was gleaming with even more fire than before. The boy who it was chasing cowered behind a tree. Link knew the beast was about to launch its next attack. Link struck again with a blinding white nova. The beast launched its attack at the same moment, the bolts of energy exploded with rage. Link was jolted backwards into Epona. The Twinmold imposter hadn't been harmed.

Knowing that he could not defeat the beast he quickly mounted on Epona, grabbing the boy on his way and tossed him behind him. They managed to escape but Link was badly injured. They reached a small pond and dismounted from Epona. Link stared at the boy for a moment, he had recognized him from somewere, but he couldn't recall where. "Who are you and why were you being chased by that beast," Link asked.

The boy responded. "Sit down, let me tell you a story. I come from Termina, a land that was once destroyed by Majora's Mask, a long time ago, hundreds of years ago, the time when the mask was first created. I was living when the mask was first created. In fact, I was born not long before then. My mortality is that of a god, although I am not untouchable. My body is human, and therefore I am not indestructible you know. I was one of the few who survived the attack by Majora's Mask long ago.

I had a friend at that time, one that I had known since the Eclipse Age, the age when Majora's Mask was first created. My friend was destroyed during the Eclipse Age, he had perished in the fire that swept Termina when Majora's Mask brought down the fury of the Lunar Demon, when the moon had crashed into Termina. He was one of the Giants, a Guardian of a Temple, not one that created the four worlds, swamp, mountains, ocean, and canyon, but a Giant who created another world in Termina, a hidden world, known to only a few select people, the Crystal Realm.

You see, Majora's Mask was the one that created the four presently known evil guardian masks during the Eclipse Age. These masks were created because he knew the Guardians would interfere with his apocalyptic plans, so he decided to curse the Guardians with these evil masks, and turn the gaurdians to evil henchmen of his, Odolwa, Goht, Gyorg, and Twinmold. These masks turned the Guardians against everything and everyone except the creator.

During the Eclipse Age Majora's Mask destroyed the land of Termina by cursing the moon and using his evil Giants. There was only one who stayed to battle to protect the people of Termina and myself. It was the fifth Guardian, my former friend who was armed with a mask of his own, the mask of Crystalmold. This was the mask that Majora's Mask never created because he never knew of this fifth giant, I created this Mask, with good intentions, to battle Majora's Mask, because I knew the Giant was no match for the others and Majora's Mask without it. It transformed him into the beast of Crystalmold, a beast that is almost invincible. He faught bravely on that cold summer eve against the puppets of Majora's Mask. But then suddenly, Majora's Mask summoned the Lunar Demon. Fire swept the land. I was kept safe in one of the divisions of the Crystal Realm. I came out to find Termina engulfed in flames, and Clocktown, destroyed, and the legendary Clocktower in pieces.

Majora's Mask was defeated, it couldn't withstand the impact of the moon, the evils were sealed within it. With Majora's Mask being defeated, the Gaurdians were restored to their normal forms who we found lying prone on the ground, but the people of Termina had perished, leaving few survivors. I found all but one, the fifth Giant, I assumed he had perished in the flames, but I was wrong, very wrong.

I sealed Majora's Mask in the Crystal Realm hoping never to see it again. Things returned to normal over time, and the Giants lived on. Time passed and just three day's ago you had come to Termina, before you arrived however, tragedy had struck as you know, Majora's Mask had returned, someone had broken into the Crystal Realm, and unleashed the evils of Majora's Mask yet again.

Skull Kid, stole this Mask from whoever had broken into the Crystal Realm. I suppose he did not have evil intentions but the mask did. When Skull Kid put on the mask he unleashed the evil within the mask, and Majora's Mask took over his body, and let the evil spirits of the Guardian Masks free, the Guardians were once again transformed.

But you Link journeyed to the four temples, and saved the Guardians, returned them to their true forms. You travelled to the moon to face the Mask. You called the four Guardians to the Clock Tower, who successfully held the falling moon in place. Once you were on the moon you met five children. They travelled there because they knew Termina was soon to perish, unless there was a boy determined enough to stop it. They were there to test you to see if you were indeed determined enough to battle Majora's Mask, you were, and you finally received the Fierce Deity's Mask to battle Majora's Mask, once used as a key to the Crystal Realm.

The five boys you met, were my very close friends, four wearing guardian masks and one wearing the Mask of Majora. I was that boy. I am Majora, it immediately bonded with me when it warped to the moon. It was my mask that destroyed Termina long ago, and it was my mask that almost destroyed Termina yet again. I never intended there to be evil in the mask, the Mask wasn't made to hurt anyone, but it did. It was meant to be used by my tribe for our hexing rituals, but more importantly to act as the protector of Termina.

You defeated my mask last night Link, you restored peace to Termina, you are perhaps the greatest hero of all time in Termina. Everything again returned to normal except for the fact that Crystalmold was still out there, which I was unaware of ever since. Crystalmold had somehow escaped from Termina before the impact, most likely underground. I confronted Crystalmold as I transported myself from the moon back to Termina, I left Termina right before the Carnival of Time. To my shock Crystalmold shot up through the ground.

He was not his normal self though, he was cursed with evil, someone had found Crystalmold before I had. The beast was probably using the Crystal Realm as his hiedeout, and the intruder of the Crystal Realm had cursed the mask, fearing intervention of Crystalmold in his apocalyptic plans. His actions were unfriendly and I could see the evil in his eyes. I knew he would soon destroy me if I stayed, so I ran as fast as I could back towards Termina. That's when I ran into you.

That mask you used back there, the Fierce Deity's Mask, that, as you know, was once mine. Your Deity's Mask is powerful, but not powerful enough to defeat Crystalmold, not just yet. He only withdraws your energy and charges his attack.

There is a legend Link, that states that if ever should something happen to Termina, an unbeatable foe, in the Crystal Realm lies five bottles of potion. You must defeat five enemies, or guardians. For each guardian you defeat, you receive a bottle. Each bottle is filled with a different magic potion. When all five combine they form the Sword of Truth. This sword, when charged to its full capacity, creates ions that degenerate the armor and shielding that the enemy has, then when fired it searches for the weak point on the enemy and sends out a midnight nova which explodes on impact, destroying the enemy.

The Crystal Realm lies under Termina, directly under the Clock Tower, you need a special key to enter however Link, your Deity's Mask. While wearing your Deity's Mask, fire one of your novas directly at the left water gate inside the Clock Tower. Travel through the tunnel and you should find a doorway to your left side at about halfway through the tunnel, enter, and you will see two blocks of diamond, press your Deity hands against the diamond and you shall enter the Crystal Realm.

You must travel to the Crystal Realm and get the five potions. If you fail, Termina will be lost, Crystalmold will return if not stopped..."
